Before I get too far down the road in this blog, I should probably introduce the fam and folks that I am camping with.

If you have made it this far into the blog, you have probably realized that I gots NOTHING as far as who we are. I think this would be a good time to do a bit of intro on my end so you can get to know who the persons blog you are reading is.

My name is Julio Madriz, and my fiancé Angie is the person that finally got me into camping. It was 2021, and I got on YouTube and was looking at all these people going out and camping across the United States. With all of the lockdowns, masks, madness, boredom ... I figured it was a good a time as any to attempt camping and see if it was something that we could do as a family. I have two kids and Angie has 3 fur babies, Abby (17), Annie (9) and Simon (8). All Jack Russels.

My son has gone camping with his grandparents since he was a baby, so he was all for it. I also have a daughter in Washington state now that does not live with me, and I figured I should get a camper that could potentially take her with me since she has cerebral palsy. In order to meet these intro requirements, we started out with a small camper that I thought would fit the bill.

The requirements for that camper are as follows:

  1. Could my daughter get into the camper?

  2. Would it fit all of us?

  3. could my f150 tow it?

  4. Could we load and unload easily?

  5. Does it have a bathroom and a shower?

That was the main stuff. So we found a little camper at Billings RV that met those requirements. A Coachman Freedom Express Blast 17BLSE. We loved that little camper and it got us to quite a few places in 2021. We even ended up getting some Rambo E-Bikes from The Spoke Shop. We ended up camping 10 times last year, and created some great memories. I can say that it was totally worth it.

So one thing you will see from us is the main point of this site, which is trying to find great camping spots in Montana. They may be popular places, they may be out of the way. Its all new to me so I want to share in that experience.

Some other things you will notice is that we also go to Las Vegas... a lot. I think we are up to 16 trips for Angie and 17 for me, so we do know quite a bit about that town. I may add things about Vegas into this blog.

We also have family that lives all over, from Hawaii to Nicaragua. So you will see some of that too. I should probably also point out that we love food!!! We love eating it, we love making it, we love sharing it! So that may be a few subtopics that stream off of this main camping blog.

So if you are sort of into the same things or are just interested in something new, follow us! We would love for you to join the discussion forums, join us on a trip, or share some good stories and good food with you. We are only here for the blink of an eye, and I have found that sharing with others makes it all worth while.
